Tentative itinerary

Day 1. Quito transfer in.

Reception at the airport and transfer to chosen hotel

 

Day 2. Quito city tour and Mitad del Mundo.

At first we pick you up at the hotel to head towards the historic center of the city, a captivating urban jewel that has the largest and best-preserved colonial enclave in Latin America, and the very first city in the world to be declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1978. The tour starts at the Guápulo Viewpoint where you can see the Church and Convent of the same name.

Then, the tour takes Av. 12 de octubre in direction to the National Assembly, where there is a mural with a historical review of the Country. We continue the Alameda park, which is one of the first parks in the city. We arrive at the unique Basilica of the National Vow, different due to having gargoyles in the shape of animals of the Ecuadorian fauna as part of the decoration of the Church. We will have a brief stop and explanation; we continue towards the Plaza de la Independencia, where we must walk. We will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, The Church of the Sagrario, the Company of Jesus, and the Church of San Francisco (It does not include tickets.) We return to our transport to visit the Panecillo viewpoint, from where you can see the whole city, in its four cardinal points.

Afterwards, we head north and towards the “Mitad del Mundo City” (includes entrance) where there is the monument that commemorates the arrival of the French Geodesics who together with Pedro Vicente Maldonado in the colonial era made measurements to determine the center of the world.

In this place you have the possibility to change hemispheres with a single step. Inside the monument there is a recount of the Ethnic groups that exist in the country. You can visit the Intiñan Museum (Tickets not included). Here you can carry out different entertaining and exclusive experiments due to the fact of being in the middle of the equator. Return to the hotel.

 

Day 3. Quito – Otavalo.

We leave the city through the “Panamericana Norte” highway with panoramic view of the city. We will stop at Guayllabamba where you can taste the “custard apples” typical fruit of the area. We will cross the equator through the town of Cayambe where our guide will give us a delicious biscuit and “leaf cheese”, typical products of the area. We will stop at the Lago San Pablo viewpoint, in order to photograph it and observe the majestic Imbabura Volcano. We continue until we reach Otavalo. The Handicraft Market of this town is possibly the best known in South America, and every Saturday it is packed with different stands where there are hand-made creations made the indigenous Otavaleños. From jewelry, ceramics, tapestries, embroidery, hats, paintings to even musical instruments are offered. The mixture of colors, smells and sounds that invade the Plaza de Los Ponchos is a spectacle. Later, we will visit the town of Cotacachi, where we can see items made of leather and have free time for lunch (not included). Return to the city of Quito.

 

Day 4. Quito – Cotopaxi – Riobamba.

We leave the city through the “Panamericana Sur” highway on the route called Avenida de los Volcanes, if the weather allows it, we can admire the beauty of some majestic volcanoes. We will continue towards the “Cotopaxi” Volcano which is 5,897 m. tall and is the second highest active volcano in the country. This mountain has a conical shape with a large black spot near the top. This is a smooth stone called “Yanasacha” that doesn’t allow snow to stick to its surface. In this place you will visit the Museum of the Cotopaxi National Park, place where animals from the area are exposed. Next there is a stop at the Limpiopungo Lagoon. If time allows, we will visit a hacienda that cultivates roses for exportation, where we can learn all the different stages of their growth and production, finishing with a taste of rose liquor and many other rose-based products. We will have free time for lunch and afterwards we will head towards the city of Riobamba. Accomodation in a colonial hacienda.

 

Day 5. Tren Alausí – Sibambe – Alausí – Cuenca

Very early in the morning we will have breakfast and head towards the city of Alausí. We will take the Train to enjoy the route known as the Devil’s Nose (nariz del diablo), one of the greatest railway feats of Ecuador. We will come back to Alausí on time for lunch (not included). Then we will travel to Cuenca city; on our way we will visit the largest existing Inca Archaeological Complex. It has survived since the 15th and 16th centuries, has an elliptical shape and its name, given by the Cañaris, means Inca Stone Wall. It is presumed that because this was a place where the king was received, it should have all the necessary comforts for the him and his soldiers. Trip continues to Cuenca. Accomodation.

 

Day 6. Cuenca – Guayaquil.

Breakfast at the hotel. We leave to have a city tour where we will visit the Calderón Park, the New Cathedral and the Old Cathedral, the flower park, the City Museum (includes tickets), the Cañarí-Inca Ruins of All Saints, the Tomebamba River Ravine and the Turi viewpoint. Free time for lunch (Not included), in the afternoon we will go to the city of Guayaquil, which is on the Ecuadorian coast. But on our way we will go through the Cajas National Park, which is the most important Lacustrine Complex in the Country. Arrival to the city. Accommodation

 

Day 7. Guayaquil City Tour

Breakfast. Tour of the main streets and avenues of the city, visit to Simón Bolívar Park, El Malecón 2000, the docks and the Rotonda (with the statues of Bolívar and San Martín). Visit the Colonial neighborhood of Las Peñas, where you can admire its wooden architecture and art galleries, as well as a beautiful panoramic view of Guayaquil, from the Fort Santa Ana, Guayas. Return to the hotel and free afternoon for personal use. Accommodation.

 

Day 8. Guayaquil Transfer Out.

Breakfast. Depending on the flight time, our stuff will take you to the airport.

The values ​​of this tariff is 10% commissionable for you, it is a confidential rate since we give a better rate to you for being our clients.

Cancellations or refunds will be processed on a case by case basis, except with Cruises or Navigations in Galapagos that will be processed according to the policies of each company. Refunds will be made if the case warrants, but the value to be returned will be made to the contracting company after presenting the letters of request with their corresponding explanation. In no case will reimbursements be made for services NOT used on Tours, Accommodations, Air or Circuit sites.

Each Agency in its country of origin must issue its own “VOUCHERS” and we ask, as far as possible, to issue only one, for the totality of confirmed services. There must be only one original for the passenger, we do not exchange vouchers.

The “vouchers” should mention the itineraries according to our confirmation and they should always include the following information.

Turaleza Touring disclaims all liability with passengers, for expenses that cause flight delays or changes in flight schedules, traffic accidents, legal problems, illness, theft of luggage or belongings, death of passengers. For all these cases and other UNEXPECTED travelers, we ask as “Mandatory”, that their passengers come to Ecuador with their private insurance, from their country of origin, to cover possible losses during their stay in Ecuador. The land, air and river transport units, like some hotels, have minimum insurance for accidents only.

PAYMENTS
All the services requested by your agency, must be PRE-PAID in full before the start of the trip of your passengers. TURALEZA TOURING, reserves the right to CANCEL or SUSPEND the same, if the payments have not been made effective upon the arrival of the passengers to the Country. It will not be our responsibility the consequences that this could cause its passengers, for the cancellation or suspension of the services on site.
